Our team of experienced puzzle creators/program facilitators will guide and advise the students through each step of the process of creating and designing puzzles, as well as lead the teams through puzzles, icebreakers, and other activities that will encourage greater teamwork and collaboration.

Creative challenges that encourage collaboration

During the workshop, teams have to come up with their own ideas for puzzles, and implement them with unique designs, illustrations, storylines and presentation methods. This is a one-of-a kind creative challenge that will also promote collaboration with their teammates in order to share ideas and skills.

Puzzle-solving challenges that build teamwork

Not only will students make their own puzzles and hone their creative skills, in order to get to that point they will experience a variety of different puzzle challenges made by yours truly, from outdoor scavenger hunts to indoor escape-game style games. These puzzle activities are designed for teams that are trying to strengthen their relationships and forge deeper bonds, which includes school classes that are looking for ways to increase teamwork.

Through this one-of-a-kind workshop, students will gain new confidence in their creative skills, and be motivated to lead others. Puzzle designing requires knowing how to guide others, as well confidence in what you produce – both of which are crucial aspects to developing bright thinkers and supportive leaders. Students will also get to practice leadership in their teams as they work together to think through and craft their puzzles creations.

Exciting adventures at our scavenger hunt locations

As mentioned before, students will have an exciting opportunity to participate in some of our best puzzle activities, such as our highly popular scavenger hunt. This is a great way to explore new areas in locations such as Asakusa or Yokohama as a class (with great photo opportunities to boot), and to reinforce the values of teamwork and collaboration.

Fun team building and bonding activities

While students are given puzzle challenges to accomplish and are guided through the process of creating their own puzzles, they will also get the chance to have fun and bond in other fun ways, too. Our program also includes lots of extra ice breakers and short team building activities that get teams moving, laughing, and having fun together. These games help to reinforce the collaborative and team working skills in the rest of the program.

Fully bilingual

What is Puzzle Boot Camp?

Invite Japan’s Puzzle Boot Camp is a specially-designed workshop for schools and other educational organizations, whose goal is to encourage teamwork and collaboration as well as inspire creativity. Taking place over the course of three days, students learn about the world of puzzle-making, culminating in the creation of their very own unique puzzles that they present to the rest of the group. They are guided through this process by experienced facilitators and puzzle designers, who offer various presentations about interesting aspects of puzzle design and creation, as well as lend advice and encouragement to students on their work.

Along the way, students also get the chance to try a number of different puzzles and puzzle-types, from indoor escape-room-like activities, to exciting outdoor scavenger hunts. Shorter team building activities, icebreaker activities, and physical activities that are both fun and stimulate team bonding are also scattered at various points within the schedule to provide mental breaks and reinforce the themes of the workshop.
